A rich diversity of landscapes and fauna is typical of Parco Naturale Regionale Sirente Velino, in Abruzzo region. Its name comes from the massif of Monte Sirente and Monte Velino. You are spoilt for choice: the Park offers rivers, plains, mountains, woods of beech.
To spend a romantic day spring we suggest a horseback journey through ancient paths away from modernity.
For those who love history and culture the Park does not disappoint. In fact you can visit the medieval villages with castles, towers and town walls. We suggest you, for example, the village of Fontecchio, fortified by walls with gates. In Piazza del Popolo you can admire the medieval shops, and the symbol of the village: the beautiful fourteenth-century fountain.
